The weather outside was slightly gloomy. Dark clouds covered the sky while a cool breeze blew through the city. The rain had stopped for now, but the scent of wet soil still lingered in the air, making the morning feel fresh and pleasant.
In complete contrast...
Rana Mansion was nothing less than complete chaos.
The entire mansion had turned into a wedding headquarters. Florists continuously entered and left with fresh flowers, decorators measured every corner of the mansion, designers displayed sherwani samples, while wedding planners hurried from one room to another with files and schedules in their hands. Servants were carrying sweets, invitation cards, and decorative items throughout the mansion.
The usually disciplined and quiet Rana Mansion was now filled with laughter, conversations, and excitement.
In the middle of all the chaos...
Little Ayaan was happily running around the living room with his tiny laughter echoing throughout the mansion.
Behind him... Armaan chased him dramatically.
"Ayaan... ruk ja! Pakad liya tujhe!"
Ayaan giggled loudly and ran even faster.
"Nahi... Chachu pakad hi nahi sakte!"
The entire family couldn't help but smile at the adorable scene.
Just then...
"Armaan!"
Meera called from the sofa.l
Without wasting another second, Armaan caught Ayaan, effortlessly lifting him into his arms despite the little boy continuously laughing and trying to escape.
"Mil gaya mera sher." Armaan said proudly.
Ayaan folded his tiny arms dramatically.
"Cheating ki!"
Everyone laughed softly.
Still carrying Ayaan, Armaan walked towards Meera, who was busy discussing the wedding preparations with Nandini and Rajeshwari.
"Chachi, aur kitni shopping baaki hai?" Armaan asked playfully.
Meera sighed dramatically.
"Abhi toh sirf shuruaat hai. Shaddi ki shopping kabhi khatam nahi hoti. Aur tum logon ko toh bas mazaak hi soojhta rehta hai."
Armaan immediately looked at Ayaan.
"Suna? Isiliye shaadi se door rehna."
Ayaan nodded seriously.
"Main bhi nahi karunga shaadi."
The elders burst into laughter. A few steps away...
Advik sat quietly with his laptop, discussing something related to his company with Mahendra. Every now and then, he looked towards Ayaan with a faint smile before returning to his work.
Among all the cheerful faces... Only one person looked completely out of place.
Rudra Rana.
He sat alone on the single-seater sofa with an important government file in his hands. His sharp eyes moved from one page to another as he tried to concentrate on his work.
But every few seconds...
Someone laughed. Someone shouted. Someone discussed decorations. Someone called another family member. Within minutes...
The continuous noise became unbearable.
Rudra slowly closed the file. He placed it on the centre table with controlled frustration before leaning back against the sofa.
His fingers reached his temple as he gently rubbed it, closing his eyes for a brief moment.
He already knew...
This chaos wasn't ending anytime soon. And unfortunately... He was the reason behind every bit of it.
On the other side...
Unlike the lively chaos of Rana Mansion, the Mehra Residence carried a calmer atmosphere. Yet, it was equally busy.
The house was filled with close relatives, family friends, designers, and jewellery consultants. Beautiful jewellery sets, fabric samples, invitation cards, and bridal catalogues covered the centre table. Everyone was discussing wedding preparations with excitement.
Only one person... Wasn't a part of that excitement.
Anika Mehra.
She sat quietly in the middle of the living room, wearing a simple pastel suit. Her face looked calm, but her eyes revealed the sleepless night she had spent thinking about the upcoming wedding.
Kavya sat beside her, holding one jewellery box after another.
"Anika, dekho beta..."
She opened a diamond necklace.
"Yeh tumhare engagement outfit ke saath kitna sundar lagega."
Anika looked at it for barely a second before giving a small nod.
"Haan, Mumma..."
Kavya smiled and picked up another jewellery set.
"Aur yeh reception ke liye?"
Again...
Anika simply nodded.
"Theek hai."
Her answers had become shorter than usual. She wasn't looking at the jewellery anymore.
She was only pretending to. Savitri noticed it immediately. Closing the catalogue in her lap, she looked lovingly at her granddaughter.
"Kya hua, Anika? Subah se ek baar bhi muskuraayi nahi tum."
Anika looked at everyone sitting around her.
Everyone was smiling. Everyone was busy planning her wedding.
Yet...
No one noticed how broken she felt. Forcing a faint smile, she slowly stood up.
"Kuch nahi, Dadi... Bas thodi thak gayi hoon."
Without waiting for another question...
She quietly turned around. And walked upstairs towards her room. Her footsteps were slow. As if every step reminded her that... With each passing day...
She was getting closer to a wedding she had never wished for.
The family exchanged brief glances, but soon returned to discussing jewellery, outfits, and preparations, believing Anika simply needed time to accept the marriage.
Meanwhile...
Behind the closed door of her room... Anika leaned against it, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.
For a few moments...
She simply stood there in silence, trying to gather the strength to face a future that no longer felt like her own.
By evening, the atmosphere inside Rana Mansion had become even livelier.
Every member of the family was busy with one thing or another.
Rajeshwari sat on the sofa with several wedding files spread across the table, carefully checking every arrangement. Beside her, Rajveer, Mahendra and Vikram were discussing the guest list, security arrangements and political invitations.
A little away from them, Meera and Nandini were surrounded by jewellery boxes.
"Yeh wala set reception ke liye perfect rahega." Meera smiled.
"Nahi... Rudra ki dulhan par emerald zyada accha lagega." Nandini replied while comparing another necklace.
Sitting comfortably between both of them...
Little Ayaan watched everything with innocent curiosity. Every few seconds, another question escaped his mouth.
"Dadi... yeh kya hai?"
"Yeh necklace hai, beta."
A few moments later...
"Aur yeh?"
"Yeh bangles hain."
Again...
"Aur yeh?"
Meera laughed.
"Ayaan, tumhare paas itne questions kahan se aate hain?"
The little boy proudly replied,
"Main intelligent hoon."
Everyone smiled.
On the other side of the living room... Sat the three Rana brothers. Or more accurately...
Two brothers...
And one poor victim. Rudra sat in the middle, trying to read an important file.
To his right sat Armaan. To his left sat Advik.
Anyone looking at them could easily tell that Rudra had already lost all his patience with these two.
Armaan, as usual, had done a complete PhD in teasing his elder brother.
He looked at Rudra with a mischievous grin.
"Waise Bhai...Sherwani ka colour decide kar liya?"
No reply.
Armaan continued.
"Black hi pehenna...Bhabhi aapko dekhte hi fida ho jayengi."
Rudra slowly lifted his eyes. One deadly glare. Armaan ignored it completely.
Advik, who usually stayed away from such teasing, surprisingly joined in. Keeping a completely straight face, he calmly said,
"Smile kar lena. Logon ko lagega dulha apni marzi se shaadi kar raha hai."
Armaan immediately burst into laughter.
"Bilkul! Warna sab sochenge kisi ne kidnap karke mandap mein bithaya hai."
Rudra closed his file. Very. Very. Slowly. He looked at both of them.
"Tum dono ka kaam khatam ho gaya?"
Armaan folded his arms dramatically.
"Abhi toh shuruaat hai, Bhai."
He leaned a little closer.
"Waise... 'I Hate Women' wala dialogue shaadi ke baad retire kar dena."
Even Advik couldn't stop himself this time. A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Haan... warna Bhabhi pehle din hi ghar chhod kar chali jayengi."
Armaan suddenly laughed so loudly that his voice echoed throughout the mansion.
"Hahahaha!"
Everyone's attention immediately shifted towards them.
Mahendra looked up from his papers.
"Ae! Pagal ho gaye ho kya?"
The entire family burst into laughter. Only one person... Didn't.
Rudra simply stared at both his younger brothers with a completely expressionless face. The famous Rana Death Glare. Armaan instantly straightened his back.
"Main toh bas mazaak kar raha tha..."
Advik quietly picked up a newspaper as if he hadn't said anything. Watching everything from across the room...
Rajeshwari slowly removed her reading glasses. Then her eyes fell on little Ayaan.
The poor child was looking at the three brothers with complete confusion.
Rajeshwari sighed dramatically and slowly shook her head from side to side.
"Hey Bhagwan..."
Then she looked back at the three brothers and smiled to herself.
Inside her mind, a new plan had already begun.
> "Rudra ki shaadi ke baad..."
> "Pehle in dono ki fielding set karni padegi."
Her eyes moved towards Advik.
> "Ek ko doctor ke paas bhejna hai..."
Then towards Armaan. She carefully observed him for a few seconds. One eyebrow slowly lifted.
> "Aur iski..."
Another pause.
> "Iski toh pakka koi girlfriend bhi nahi hogi."
She looked at him once again.
Armaan was busy annoying Rudra for absolutely no reason. Rajeshwari couldn't help but smile.
> "Aise pagal ladke ko apna dil kaun dega?"
She sighed dramatically.
"Iske liye bhi mujhe hi ladki dhoondhni padegi."
A satisfied smile appeared on her face. Her mission was now clear.
Mission Rudra – Almost Done.
Mission Advik – Started.
Mission Armaan – Pending.
Closing the file in her hand, Rajeshwari stood up.
She looked at everyone and said firmly,
"Chalo... Bahut kaam baaki hain."
Everyone immediately returned to the wedding preparations.
Meanwhile...
Rudra silently stood up, picked up his forgotten file... And walked away. Far away from the two brothers... Who were still laughing at him.
After leaving the living room, Rajeshwari quietly walked towards her room. Closing the door behind her, she sat comfortably on the edge of her bed. The laughter and chaos from outside were still faintly audible, but her mind was occupied with something entirely different.
Just then...
Her phone rang. She looked at the screen. It was the same trusted person she had assigned a special task to.
Without wasting a second, she answered the call.
"Haan, bolo."
From the other side came a respectful voice.
"Ma'am, aapne jis doctor ki information mangwayi thi... woh poori details mil gayi hai."
Rajeshwari listened attentively. The man began explaining everything one by one.
"Unka naam Dr. Saanvi sharma hai. Profession – Neurologist. Woh Aarogyam Multispeciality Hospital mein senior consultant hain."
"Unhone apni medical studies distinction ke saath complete ki hain. Unke pita bhi doctor hain, maa bhi doctor hain aur unka bada bhai bhi isi profession mein hai."
He continued,
"Ma'am, unke baare mein kisi tarah ki koi negative information nahi mili. Hospital mein sab unki bahut respect karte hain. Patients bhi unhe bahut pasand karte hain.
"Aur..."
He paused for a second.
"Unka koi boyfriend bhi nahi hai."
Rajeshwari's lips slowly curved into a satisfied smile. She asked a few more questions before finally saying,
"Theek hai. Accha kaam kiya tumne."
The call ended.
A few moments later, she transferred an extra reward to the man's account.
"Yeh tumhari mehnat ka inaam hai." she murmured softly.
Keeping the phone aside, Rajeshwari leaned back against the headboard. Her eyes slowly closed. A gentle smile appeared on her face as she imagined little Ayaan laughing happily with Saanvi.
She remembered the way Ayaan had innocently said...
"Story Wali Didi."
A soft chuckle escaped her lips.
"Shayad...Mere Ayaan ko uski Story Wali Didi hamesha ke liye mil jaaye."
Then another thought crossed her mind.
She imagined Advik standing beside Saanvi. The image looked... Surprisingly perfect. Still smiling, Rajeshwari whispered to herself,
"Dekhte hain...Kismat ko kya manzoor hai."
With that thought...
She picked up the wedding file once again. Because before beginning her next mission...
She had one wedding to complete first. Rudra Rana's wedding.
Night had slowly settled over the city.
Most of the shops inside one of the city's largest malls were preparing to close. Employees were arranging products back on the shelves while a few customers hurried to complete their last-minute shopping.
Among them...
Armaan Rana casually walked through the mall with a few shopping bags in his hands.
Unlike Rudra, he didn't like security guards following him everywhere. He believed he was capable of protecting himself.
After buying a few outfits for the wedding, he entered a premium sports store.
He wanted a pair of formal shoes for the wedding... And another pair of badminton shoes for his daily practice.
Since it was almost closing time, only a few customers were inside.
Armaan walked towards the shoe section. His eyes immediately stopped on a pair of elegant black formal shoes.
"Perfect..." he murmured.
He extended his hand to pick them up. But at the very same moment... Another hand reached the box first. Armaan frowned.
Slowly turning his head, he saw the person standing beside him. He immediately sighed.
"Tum?"
The girl looked up. She was equally surprised. It was none other than...
Avni kapoor.
She folded her arms.
"Kya? Mall sirf tumhare liye bana hai?"
Armaan gave her an expressionless look.
"Main bhi wahi poochne wala tha."
Avni rolled her eyes.
"Tum har jagah mil jaate ho."
Armaan smirked.
"Galat... Tum har jagah mere saamne aa jaati ho."
Avni looked at him in disbelief.
"Excuse me? Road pe bhi tum saamne aaye the."
Armaan immediately pointed at her.
"Road pe gaadi kiski control se bahar thi? Tumhari."
Avni took a step closer.
"Aur beech road mein jhagda kon kar Raha tha? Tum."
Both stared at each other. Neither was ready to lose. The salesman standing nearby looked at them helplessly.
Finally he spoke nervously,
"Sir... Ma'am... agar aap dono argue kar chuke ho toh main store band kar doon?"
Both immediately looked at him. Then looked at each other again. Without another word...
Armaan picked another pair of shoes. Avni also grabbed a different box. Both walked towards separate billing counters...
Still muttering complaints under their breath. Neither of them noticed...
A trusted employee from Rana Mansion, who had come to the mall for some wedding-related purchases, had witnessed everything from a distance.
From where he stood... It didn't look like they were arguing.
Instead...
It looked as if they were having a long conversation. The man quietly smiled.
He immediately took out his phone.
> "Rajeshwari Ma'am ko yeh baat batani padegi..."
He had no idea... That this small misunderstanding... Was about to create another chapter of chaos in the Rana family.
